"Barro y Arena" literally means Mud and Sand, which are the organic materials that later will become the potter's Clay and Glass. With these two elements I spend my days happily playing and sometimes stubbornly tormenting myself.
This is my second time working or I should say playing with clay and my first attempt with Glass. The first time was back in Lima, Peru in the 90's. I started doing some hand modeling and later doing some decorative paintings on Duncan Ceramics...but after sometime I thought that making a career as an artisan will never give me any financial security and made me feel so nervous about my future, so I moved on to my next favorite thing, art history, thinking there I will find all the financial security in a great place like a museum, working everyday surrounded by art...things are never like one imagines or how we idealized them...
